Last weekend began with a trip to the Denver temple...
Followed by a hike (I say hike to make myself feel good--it was more like a walk with one steep part) to see the ruins of what almost became a summer home for the President of the United States. And no, Kirk is not wearing a fanny pack. That is a water-bottle/camera/kleenex/chapstick-carrying-manly-outdoorsy-pack.
The almost presidential summer home overlooks the Red Rocks Ampitheater. It's the red ridge/outcropping of rocks in the middle. Very cool.
Last weekend ended with a Rockies game! Even though they aren't the Red Sox or Yankees, it was a great game! We saw a pickle, a few home runs, a double play, catcher threw out a Dodger that tried to steal 2nd base. AND, we were within a few feet of catching a fly ball! I kid you not, if I weren't prego I totally would have sacrificed my body and leapt for that ball. It. Was. Awesome. And we ate ice cream sundaes out of mini-Rockies helmets. Cool.
This weekend we went on another walk/hike that follows a ridge of rock outcroppings that looks like a spine...hence the name Devil's Backbone.
Did I mention I finished my bachelor degree with a bang by turning in all my assignments a day early?! It took me ALL of my college career, but I finally learned the value of not procrastinating. :) Talk about good feelings.
