I am so excited to spend time with both of our families this Christmas! Learning about Kirk's family traditions and teaching him my family's traditions will be so much fun!
Christmas is my favorite holiday. I've already been listening to Christmas music since October; some would argue that doesn't allow me to savor each of the Fall holidays. Let's be honest, who wants to savor Halloween? It can have one night, but then I move right on. Thanksgiving and Christmas are intertwined in my mind. Usually there is snow during both (at least in Idaho), there's always great food=ham-turkey-yams-rolls-cookies-egg nog-need I go on...and the best place to be is with loved ones. Thanksgiving prepares me for Christmas by reminding me of all I have to be thankful for, and that I need to start shopping! (Can I get a shout-out from Jill?!? Are your lights up yet??)
On a different topic...Kirk is in Florida for a business trip. *sigh* I have resigned myself to homework and more homework, but time is crawling. In an effort to soothe my loneliness, I have created Kirk-2.0 (read kirk-two-point-oh). Take a look:
Some people have the blow-up doll, some people have the sweater doused with cologne...this is like a combination cause I can cuddle with it AND it smells like him! ;) You may be laughing now, but when I catch you using my idea when your honey leaves town, don't be surprised if I say "I told you so."
angelica! i love reading your blog you are so funny i never would of thought to put a invisible brian on the sofa when he went out of town in the past, but i do say its a good idea! remember when we were little and we would scream and run away from kristina haha oh man i sure miss our childhood fun!
ReplyDeleteHAHA I LOVE IT!! Gosh My husband always went on trips and I was never clever enough to do that, where was your blog 6 months ago when I needed it?
ReplyDeletelol. I think having Curt's clothes on the couch like that might actually freak me out if I came downstairs (pretty sure I wouldn't remember what I'd done and think someone was sitting on my couch.) When my husband leaves for the night, I tend to convert back into a 10-year old and can't go in the basement alone because I'm afraid someone sneaked in while I was upstairs and is waiting for me. So exciting that you get to go home for Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha what a great idea!!! You are so funny! When are you going to be here for CHRISTMAS!?!?!?!!? I'm so excited and hopefully we'll be able to meet up if even for a few minutes! I'd love to see you!!! I also have been listening to Christmas music since October...we've had a few days that have been sooo warm outside and I must admit, it's felt a little weird having Christmas music on inside! Hopefully we'll get some snow here soon to go along with the wonderful music!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha oh man Gel, you make me laugh...I love it. And, I am putting a request in for when you are home! I want to get all the girls together and play some ball! It will only be one morning so I think you should pencil me in :) Hope things are going good! Love and miss you!
ReplyDeleteNext time Rich has a Scout Camp overnighter I'm going to have to make a "Rich 2.0" I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWe are booking you for all free time over C-mas, no excuses!
The last Weds in Dec (12/30) is the free day at the zoo, so if you're still here you have to come with us.
Gelly,
ReplyDeleteKirk is looking very spiffy on that couch. So happy you get to go home for the holidays. Give Gramma Decker a big kiss for me. Love you, Aunt Carol
Jill put lights up yesterday and Walkers were up earlier this week.... *sigh* I guess I'll have to make Max put ours up. Gotta keep up with the neighbors!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you're coming home! It would be nice to run into you! I have a wedding gift for you that I could have mailed... but isn't it more fun to give it in person? (Punctuality is my strong point!) HA!
Gel, you are nuts! haha. I loved the creepy little husband you created on your couch :) I hope that one day I can be in love and do crazy things...
ReplyDeleteI hope that I run into you while you are home for Christmas! And yeah for Christmas music in October--I am with you on that one! Glad you are doing well! Come into Broulim's so I can see you when you are in town, eh?
Oh.....my....gosh.......! Where on earth did you come up with that idea? It looks like he got smashed into the couch or something haha! I do admit, you did make me laugh though :) You are so funny. Hope marriage life is da bomb for ya.
ReplyDeleteAppointment request: I would like to make an appointment with Gelly-Poo during the Christmas break. This is a 30min-one hour appointment over lunch at my house while we mingle and kiss my son all over. Please respond imediately so I can continue to make other appointments.
Thank you for your cooperation
Love, Andy-poo, poo, poo
Where in the heck did you come up with that one! Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess! And lets face it...you are "desperately in love" with Kirk! (quick name the movie I am referring to!)
ReplyDeleteI think I would freak myself out if I had Cam2.0 laid out on my couch. I jump at my reflection in the windows when its dark outside thinking that some just moved outside of my window. And don't laugh because I know you do the same thing too!
