Pica

Our new word for today is "pica" (thanks to the National Center for Biotechnology Information). "Pica is a pattern of eating non-food materials (such as dirt or paper).

Don't worry, it's just good clean dirt. After shooting the video, I promptly washed his mouth out, cleaned him up, and he's no worse for the wear.

Re-Entering Blog World

I have sinned. How long has it been since the last update? Almost a month...almost. As long as it's within the 30-day window we can still be friends, right??

There is a reason I've been away for so long. We went home for my baby sister's high school graduation. I hooked up with some of my high school friends ::holla:: and we had a blast. We also got to spend a few days with Kirk's family.

We had so much fun that I didn't take a single picture (again). But here's a snapshot to make up for it. This face tells you how Dayton feels about his car seat after driving across Wyoming.

He gets the scowl from me, I'm afraid.

Dayton Update: In the last few weeks, Dayton has hit a milestone--he has two teeth! They are still little and friendly to the momma, so no worries. He loves Cheerios, watermelon, bananas, and anything else that can be gummed.

6-month-old stats: Height 28 inches (90th percentile), head 18 inches (90th percentile), and weight 18 lbs (55th percentile).
